Year End Giving Creates Impact in our Community

Would you like to make a gift that supports over 80 different local nonprofit organizations working in all areas of arts, human services, education, conservation and more? When you make a gift to the Whitefish Community Foundation your gift will have great impact on your community. How many of us sit down and write out checks to over 80 different local nonprofits? That would be a very time consuming and difficult task.

Each year the Whitefish Community Foundation receives grant requests from local nonprofits asking for all types of important and many times critical support. The Grants Committee evaluates the applications and conducts site visits to understand the nonprofits program and services. In November, thousands of dollars in grants are awarded through the Community Grant Program.

The Community Foundation Board established a new monthly Micro Grant Program to help nonprofits with immediate, unexpected and emergency needs. This funding has helped cover unexpected elevator repairs, nonprofit relocation, furnace break downs, lead paint abatement and more. The Foundation’s Major Grant Program awarded $25,000 to Shepherd’s Hand Free Clinic to help establish a dental program at the clinic.

Nonprofits are here to serve our community.  The Whitefish Community Foundation is here as a resource to help our hard working nonprofits do their work well. Thank you for considering the Whitefish Community Foundation for your year end gifts. Working together we will make Whitefish a great place to live, work and play for everyone.
