CASA for Kids

Use of Funds: Funds will go towards foster children in need an advocate to help ensure they find a safe, permanent home. Help us train CASA/GAL Advocates.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to recruit, train and supervise volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children.

Project Detail:

In 2015 children entering foster care nearly doubled – jumping from 55 in 2014 to 101. Current trajectory projects a tripling of this number by the end of the year if something doesn’t change.  More children requires more advocates. We will use funds to support our comprehensive advocate training program: New advocates must complete our 50 hour initial training utilizing National CASA curriculum, flex training materials, and local presentations. We  match all graduates with CASA Coaches. Coaches and advocates must maintain ongoing training. Continuing education for both groups is also part of this project.
