Iron Horse Foundation

The Iron Horse Foundation was started with a gift from Bob Campbell in memory of his brother, Jim Campbell, who was the first General Manager of Iron Horse.  The fund has been continued with the support of the Iron Horse homeowners and from the proceeds from the Summer Art Social.  The focus of this fund is to support youth and education in the local Whitefish community.  In 2013, the foundation granted $1 Million to the Whitefish High School Jim Campbell Physical Education Wing.  The Whitefish High School Arts and Technology Wing received $250,000 in 2014 and the High School’s Center for Sustainability will receive $50,000 in 2016-2017.  The Foundation has also made grant to the following nonprofit organizations:

  • Alpine Theatre Project
  • Backpack Assistance Program for the Holiday Food Bag Program
  • Gary Norby Junior Golf Foundation
  • Glacier Babe Ruth League
  • Glacier Hockey Association
  • Muldown Elementary School – Transportation for student field trips to the Ice Den
  • North Valley Food Bank
  • Whitefish High School Greenhouse Fund
