Circle donors support the mission of the Community Foundation with an annual gift of $5,000 or more, with some donors giving as much as $50,000 annually. The Circle of Giving allows donors to pool their resources and create the maximum amount of impact. When you give to the Circle, you multiply the impact of your gift because you are providing important and many times critical funding to hundreds of nonprofits through the Community Foundations Grant Programs.
This past year, thanks to the generous support from our Circle, Whitefish Community Foundation awarded three major grants totaling $73,500, over $100,000 in Community Grants and Special Award Grants, matching grants in the Great Fish Community Challenge totaling more than $400,000, and numerous small grants to local nonprofits for urgent and unexpected needs.
Circle of Giving funds are allocated to the following programs: 30% to the current year Great Fish Community Challenge Match Fund, 15% to the Community and Discretionary Grant Programs, 10% to Major Community Project Grants, 40% to the following year Great Fish Community Challenge Match Fund, and 5% to organize the Great Fish Community Challenge.
The Circle of Giving is the backbone of the Community Foundation’s grant programs. It has grown to be a major resource for the Foundation to help address the critical needs of our nonprofits, our schools, and our community.
