The Whitefish Community Foundation’s Community Impact Committee has been busy reviewing 91 Grant Applications submitted in June through the Community Grant program, a record number of requests for the Foundation. The Foundation will hold the annual Community Grant Awards Presentation on Thursday, November 5th at the O’Shaughnessy Center. This program comes on top of the Great Fish Community Challenge and Grant Awards. To say that it has been a busy year for the Community Foundation is an understatement.
The annual event usually attracts around 300 people. Three special grants will be awarded to selected nonprofits during the evening. The Grants are made in honor of special donors that played a significant role in the development of the Whitefish Community Foundation: The Russ and Mary Jane Street Community Service Award, Doris Schumm Community Spirit Award, and the Great Fish Award. Each of these awards come with an additional $1,000 grant to the receiving nonprofit.
Doors will open at the O’Shaughnessy at 7:00 PM for a light reception followed by the awards ceremony at 7:30 PM. The Whitefish High School Drum Line will greet the public outside and the Whitefish High School Jazz Band will perform in the auditorium during the reception. The public is invited to join the Foundation in celebrating the hard work of our nonprofit community. Please call the Foundation for more information at 406-863-1781.
