The mission of the Whitefish Community Foundation is to enrich the quality of life in the Whitefish area by fostering philanthropy, building endowments, and helping donors and nonprofits benefit our community.

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF COMMUNITY GIVING

Since 2000, Whitefish Community Foundation funding has supported the hungry, assisted the underserved, built affordable housing, cared for the sick and enriched your lives through the arts. The Foundation’s funding does not come from a single source, donor or corporation but from hundred’s of individuals and organizations with one thing in common—they all care about Whitefish.

The Foundation serves philanthropists in the Whitefish community by providing optimal tax advantages, responsible investing and effective grantmaking. Donors utilize the Community Foundation’s experienced staff to gain insight on community needs and facilitate their giving with prudent due diligence and simplified administration through donor directed grants and donor-advised funds.

The Whitefish Community Foundation is the guardian of several Agency Endowment Funds, charged with helping them grow and benefit their organizations. Interest earned on the principal will help with funding needs both today and tomorrow.

The Foundation holds Endowment funds for the following organizations:

First Presbyterian Church
Glacier Symphony and Chorale
North Valley Food Bank
North Valley Music School
The WAVE
Whitefish Theatre Company

The Community Foundation provides critical assistance to local nonprofits including: technical assistance, workshops on managing nonprofits, board development and grant writing. The Foundation administers an annual community grant program where nonprofits can turn to find funding for special projects and programs, as well as an emergency grant program to answer the need of unexpected disasters. The Foundation staff communicate with area nonprofits on current and emerging issues and help to identify the resources needed to address them.

The commitment of our donors and Board members to the community of Whitefish is as awe inspiring as the Whitefish scenery. Working together to further community giving creates impact and forms partnerships that benefit us all. Join us!
