The Whitefish Community Foundation, celebrating 10 years of service to the Whitefish community, will host its 9th annual nonprofit workshop on Wednesday, April 28,“Turning Board Passion into Action in 2010.” The workshop will be held at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake and is geared toward nonprofit staff, directors, volunteers and Board of Directors. The morning session from 8:30 to noon is for Board Presidents, nonprofit directors, volunteers and staff. It will cover motivating and training your Board to ask for money. The afternoon session is for nonprofit staff, volunteers and Board of Directors and will cover turning the passion you have for your nonprofit organization into action and taking the fear out of asking for money. Cost is $30 and includes lunch. During lunch, nonprofits will have the opportunity to ask questions to members of the Foundation’s Community Grants Committee. Grant applications for 2010 funding are now available online at www.whitefishcommunityfoundation.org Grant applications are due June 1, 2010.
